Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, group sizes are intentionally kept small so everyone can hear, ask questions, and enjoy the stories properly. Booking ahead guarantees your place.

How long do the tours last?

Our tours last approximately two and a half hours.

There are plenty of pauses along the way for stories, views, photographs and questions, so the time passes naturally as you explore and discover the city.

Where do the tours start?

Each tour has its own designated meeting point, which will be clearly shared in your confirmation email after booking.

For Secret Strolls, the meeting point is revealed 48 hours before the event. Rest assured, it will always be a central location within the city.

Do tours operate rain or shine?

Yes, our tours go ahead in all kinds of weather. After all, this is Liverpool.

We only cancel or postpone if conditions become unsafe. In the unlikely event that this happens, you will be contacted as soon as possible with alternative options.

What should I wear or bring?

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, as we’ll be on our feet for most of the tour.

Liverpool weather can be unpredictable, so a weather ready coat is always a good idea. In warmer months, please take care of your own sun protection.

We also recommend bringing a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the walk.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Yes, children are very welcome on our tours as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Please note that we do cover quite a few steps along the route, so it may feel a little much for very young legs. That said, we make regular stops throughout the tour to explore landmarks, share stories and allow time for photos and a short rest.

If you have any questions about suitability, feel free to contact me directly and I’ll be happy to help.

Are the tours accessible?

We aim to make our tours as accessible as possible, and many of our routes are step free. However, as we explore historic parts of the city, some areas may include cobbled streets, uneven surfaces or gentle inclines.

If you have specific access requirements or use a wheelchair or mobility aid, please get in touch before booking. I will be happy to talk through the route with you and advise on suitability so you can feel confident and comfortable joining us.

Are animals allowed?

Only registered assistance dogs are permitted on our tours.

While we love our four legged friends, we keep our groups focused and accessible for all guests, so we are unable to allow pets on our routes. Assistance dogs are always welcome.

What if I am running late?

We kindly ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.

We will wait a few minutes where possible, but once the tour begins we do need to keep moving to ensure the experience runs smoothly for everyone.

If you are delayed, please contact us as soon as you can and we will do our best to help.

What is the minimum number of guests for a tour to go ahead?

There is no minimum number required. Our tours are designed to be small and personal, and they will run even if there is just one guest booked.

If you have secured your place, you can relax knowing the experience will go ahead as planned, no last minute cancellations due to numbers.

Is this just history?

No. It’s stories, characters, humour and the Liverpool you won’t get from a guidebook.

What are secret strolls?

Secret Strolls are mystery led experiences designed to spark curiosity from the very beginning.

You will receive the meeting point in advance, but the story itself remains hidden until the moment you gather. No itinerary. No clues. Just a sense of anticipation as you wait to discover what chapter of Liverpool’s past you are about to step into.

Each Secret Stroll is carefully curated and runs on select dates only, making every one feel like a moment you simply had to be there for.
